Hi Roger
My mother has always wondered what type of bird 'starts' the 'morning chorus' or 'dawn chorus' as we've heard it called.
Is it a particular type, depending on region [we live in England], or is it random, and/or ideed, does anyone know?
Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
Every location in the world has a morning chorus and a different bird begins it, depending on the geographical location. Every bird has a threshold of light intensity at which they begin to sing and although the light may vary depending on cloud cover, and thus the time of the morning chorus, the same bird begins it, but it will be a different bird in different locations.
