Birding/bird egg found

Question
yesterday i found a little blueegg abandoned in the mailbox, laying in some hay.
It has Little marks on it almost like paint. I would like to try to keep it alive, last
nite i had it in a towel and under a light. What else could i do, and how do i tell if
its alive.

Answer
You can't tell if it is alive until it has developed for a few days; then you can put it in front of a light and see if you see anything inside through the shell. It is VERY VERY difficult to hatch a wild bird egg and raise the baby unless you are experienced. Call your nearest wildlife rehab center or humane society for advice. THanks for your concern.
