Question
I saved a morning dove from my front porch back in May...I think she is a female (I hope so her name is Daisy) She is so spoiled. She has a $100 dolar huge cage I bought for her, I know how to feed her (she eats better than I do) She is out of the cage, more than she is in it. From my readings, she is a female, I just want to make sure..Can u help....I have pics on My space, if you would not mind taking a peek....My name is Sarah Pasillas on my space if u search. From Arizona.. As I send this 2 u she is on top of my laptop :-) Thank You So Much

Answer
There is no way to tell a male from a female dove by just looking at the external feathering; it takes an experienced person to look at the cloaca. It is illegal, by the way, to keep wild birds without a permit, so please contact your local wildlife official.
