Birding/how do you help a barn swallow with a broken leg ?

Question
I found a baby barn swallow with a broken leg. I dont know where he/she came from, so i took a little dog bed that looked like a nest and put it in a dog kennel. I gave him/her water and stale bread w/un-salted sunflower seeds. but he/she is in so much pain what can I do to help

I would try to get the bırd to a bırd or wıldlıfe rehabılıtatıon center rıght away. She/he wıll dıe on the dıet you are gıvıng her. Try goıng to www.ornıthology.com/rehab.html ofr lınks to advıce on raısıng baby bırds. It ıs VERY dıffıcult however. Thanks for you concern for the bırd. Roger Lederer
