Birding/injured cardinal

Question
Found a female cardinal with a broken wing and leg yesterday. Have been feeding it bird seed and crackers with water but I don't know what I should do for it viz there is really no place for me to take it to get help

Answer
Best thing to do is call a wildlife rehab center, humane society, a wildlife official or a vet(your best bet). There's not much you can do without experience to fix the bird's wing. If it is eating bird seed and drinking water, that's great, but skip the crackers. Meanwhile, go to www.ornithology.com/rehab.html for advice on treating injured birds.
