Question

birds
i think 2 love birds showed up in my backyard(i live in central Florida, gulf coast)i was wondering if they could actually survive in the wild?i took a picture of them, they look like parrots..beautiful birds and they were cooing at each other and rubbing each other.i'm a little concerned about them. thanks for your input.

Answer
These are indeed lovebirds. They are most likely escapees from someone's cage. They are small parrots. Most people think parrots are tropical but many can survive cool or even cold conditions. There are, in fact, many parrots in Florida and California that do nicely in the wild on their own so I think they will do just fine.
