Birding/mourning dove babies

Question
A mourning dove took over an empty nest on our front porch. Today I saw two new babies! Don't mourning doves migrate in late October. Isn't it way too late for these chicks to survive?

Answer
It depends on how far south you live. Some stay here in northeast Oklahoma all year. They eat many things including seeds that fall to the ground from feeders, and they feed their babies milk from their crops so the babies may be OK if you do not live too far north.
