Question
There is a bird who has been using our outdoor bamboo windchime as a night-time resting place for several months. I cannot tell what type of bird it is, but he comes in at dusk and leaves at dawn. He perches precariously on top of the narrow bamboo. Any ideas what type of bird would do this?
Hi Pat, you didn't say where you live, but here in northeast Oklahoma it would be a House Finch, which looks a lot like a sparrow. We have some over the front door at night, and one flew into the house one evening last week.

| Comment | Thanks for the info. I live in Northwest Arkansas, so s we are fairly close neighbors, your response could well be correct. I would be interested in getting bluebirds to my neighborhood. I was told that they only favor pasture land and wide open spaces and I do live in a sub division, even though our houses are spaced and we do have a good sized back yard. I will be sending you some stamps (4). Let me know if you think that will be enough. Thanks for your help. Pat | ||
