Question
Will you please tell me if my bird is male or female. She is 2 years old.  I was told she is a Pearl and that she would lose her markings if she were male.  I'm just wondering because I'm having trouble with her breeding.  Thanks so much and please respond.

I'm sorry I'm answering late.  I have been on vacation for a couple of weeks and I don't understand how your post got to me.

I don't give out my personal E-Mail address.  If you can post to a site such as YouTube or some other site that allows you to post pictures, I will be glad to look at your bird if you will come back and give me the address where you posted the pictures.

I`ve been raising/breeding/handfeeding/selling parrots for over 20 years (parakeets/budgies, cockatiels, 6 subspecies of conures, parrotlets, amazons, lovebirds, etc.). I've been published in "Budgies" and "Cockatiels" offered by Bow Tie Productions, and have written avian articles for publication in England. I can provide advice in raising healthy birds, handfeeding/weaning babies, some health problems (although I'm NOT an avian veterinarian), nail/beak/wing clipping, general husbandry, etc. I also have experience with racing/showing homing pigeons. I cannot diagnose specific illness over this website. If you suspect your bird is ill or if you have an emergency, contact an avian veterinarian or emergency pet clinic ASAP.
