I'm considering buying 1 tame rainbow lori bird - I read that they get agressive is this true?

Hi, Yvonne,

I've kept several subspecies of lories, and I've never experienced aggressiveness in my birds.  This would depend on the particular bird involved, how it's raised/its experiences with humans during its lifetime, how much time you spend with them, and other factors.  Most birds become somewhat aggressive when breeding and/or when they are with a mate, but this also depends on the individual bird(s) involved.

I`ve been raising/breeding/handfeeding/selling parrots for over 20 years (parakeets/budgies, cockatiels, 6 subspecies of conures, parrotlets, amazons, lovebirds, etc.). I've been published in "Budgies" and "Cockatiels" offered by Bow Tie Productions, and have written avian articles for publication in England. I can provide advice in raising healthy birds, handfeeding/weaning babies, some health problems (although I'm NOT an avian veterinarian), nail/beak/wing clipping, general husbandry, etc. I also have experience with racing/showing homing pigeons.
