Question
A month ago a parakeet came to our yard behaved like he wanted shelter. We caught him with a light blanket and provided a new cage, water, food, toys he chirps eats and sleeps on the top swinging perch. However, today he has not being very vocal. This afternoon he stays at the bottom of the cage on the corner  &looks fluffed up.Is there something wrong with him? We alredy love him and are concerned. I would appreciae your input and guidance!

Answer
Sitting all fluffed up on the bottom of the cage is definatly a sign that he is ill.

You will need to take him to the vet, if you cannot afford to do so you might try an over the counter antibiotic for birds from a pet store like Pet Supplies Plus, Petco, Petsmart.

I hope this helps.

Blessings,
-m
