Birds--General/WHITE DOVE QUESTION

Question
GOOD EVENING...I RECENTLY ACQUIRED TWO WHITE DOVES. ONE IS MORE SENSITIVE THAN THE OTHER..HER NAME IS PEACE.  PEACE AT TIMES WILL SIT AND OPEN AND CLOSE HER BEAK AND SHE WILL BE ALL FLUFFED OUT...IT WOULD LOOK LIKE SHE IS TALKING. IS SHE STRESSED?  THE OTHER ONE DOES NOT DO THIS.  DO YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS.

REGARDS, JULIE

Answer
No, I would think she is just showing signs of contentment. Birds fluff up and sit on the bottom of the cage when they are really sick, but they fluff up and lift one leg on occasion on the branches of the cage when they are content and happy. As far as far as opening and closing her beak, this can be another sign of contentment, or just a plain old yawn.

If all else appears normal with her I would just think she is happy!!

Make sure your house isn't to cold though just to be on the safe side.

Blessings,
-m
