Question
I have 4 love birds in an outside aviary and recently one pair had 3 babies. The parents are taking great care of them from what i can see but im just unsure of a couple things. The babies are inside of a long hollow log thats hanging from the aviary roof. From the log to the ground its about a 6ft drop. Im worried how they'll go trying to venture out when they get bigger and if the other 2 love birds i have (not the parents) will attack the babies. The babies at the moment i think are about 13-15 days old. 1 looking quite a bit smaller than the other 2. Should i take them out of the log so they dont fall out? Should i take them out the aviary even though the parents seem to be taking pretty good care of them?

Answer
Hi there,

For now I would keep the babies where they are until they get bigger since the parents are taking good care of them. After that when they grow feathers you can move them somewhere safer in the cage, but make sure the parents know where they are.

I hope this information proves helpful in resolving the problem. If you have any further questions, please reply and I'll be happy to assist you. Have An Awesome Day!

Ben.
