Question
I would have asked the budgie expert but they r on vacation. My parakeet has been tame. he is about 6 month to my knowledge but i got him from pet smart. we recently moved but when we got our new house, he seemed fine. all the sudden he started puffing his head when i pet him. i know this means he is mad. then he stares at my finger and lunges at it. he never bites but i have had some close calls. this isn't like him at all i am very worried about him. other than moving across the country we haven't made any changes. by the way, i don't know if this is normal but his eyes seem to open and close at different times. one will be closed the other will flicker. he always does this but i just want to make sure he is not infected.

Answer
I suspect the bird is just getting older and more mature. Keep working with him and he will settle down. I don't think the flickering of the eyes or opening at different times means anything significant. I doubt if it indicates an infection. Just watch for other signs, just in case.
