Question
My bird was in her bottom of her cage rolling around a white round egg with her nose. She was not sitting on it is this normal and also we have two girl birds how can she lay eggs is this normal or what?

Answer
Hi, Ashlee.  Thanks for posting!

Female birds can lay infertile eggs without mating with a male bird.  This is normal and is the result of raging hormones.

If the bird doesn't have her egg in a nest where it can lay stationary, this might be why she's moving it around with her nose.  She could just be playing with it, I don't know because I can't witness her behavior.  She may be trying to move it to a more stationary location in her cage.  Normally, female birds don't start incubating their eggs until the second egg is laid.

Since there are no male birds present, any eggs will be infertile.  Just leave them where she lays them (she may lay up to 5 more eggs for a full clutch) and let her abandon them on her own.  Otherwise, if you remove them as they are laid, she will likely continue to lay and lay, and you don't want this to happen.

Come back with any additional questions.

I`ve been raising/breeding/handfeeding/selling parrots for over 20 years (parakeets/budgies, cockatiels, 6 subspecies of conures, parrotlets, amazons, lovebirds, etc.). I've been published in "Budgies" and "Cockatiels" offered by Bow Tie Productions, and have written avian articles for publication in England. I can provide advice in raising healthy birds, handfeeding/weaning babies, some health problems (although I'm NOT an avian veterinarian), nail/beak/wing clipping, general husbandry, etc. I also have experience with racing/showing homing pigeons. I cannot diagnose specific illness over this website. If you suspect your bird is ill or if you have an emergency, contact an avian veterinarian or emergency pet clinic ASAP.
