Question
hi,chrys
i have had a nest box for over a month now and my female is always in it and they took material in it and made a nest but no eggs iv'e done everything that web sites say to do but still no luck.what am i doing wrong!
thanks for anwsering my past questions

Answer
Hi, Sophia,

I don't know what you are doing wrong, as you haven't provided enough information.

Are you sure they have mated and, if they have mated, how often do they mate?  Are you sure of their sexes? How old are your birds?  Are they pair-bonded (does the male feed the female beak-to-beak)?

Sometimes it takes time for a pair of birds to produce eggs once a nesting box is up.

The more info you provide the better I'm able to help.

Expertise

I`ve been raising/breeding/handfeeding/selling parrots for over 20 years (parakeets/budgies, cockatiels, 6 subspecies of conures, parrotlets, amazons, lovebirds, etc.). I've been published in "Budgies" and "Cockatiels" offered by Bow Tie Productions, and have written avian articles for publication in England. I can provide advice in raising healthy birds, handfeeding/weaning babies, some health problems (although I'm NOT an avian veterinarian), nail/beak/wing clipping, general husbandry, etc. I also have experience with racing/showing homing pigeons. I cannot diagnose specific illness over this website. If you suspect your bird is ill or if you have an emergency, contact an avian veterinarian or emergency pet clinic ASAP.
