Birds--General/broken leg

Question
I have a little baby starling and have been looking after it for about three days now. I am feeding it as adviced by the vet and everything seems fine. The little one has a broken leg and i just wanted to know how long it takes to mend? it has been spalked and evrything but it seems so uncomfortable. Please tell me how long bird legs take to heal. Thank you.

Hi, Lizette.  Thanks for posting.

What do you mean by "spalked and everything?"  I don't know how long it will take for this leg to heal...depends on how severe the break is, whether there's infection, whether it heals correctly, etc.  The vet should have been able to advise you on this based on his/her evaluation of the starling.

I`ve been raising/breeding/handfeeding/selling parrots for over 20 years (parakeets/budgies, cockatiels, 6 subspecies of conures, parrotlets, amazons, lovebirds, etc.).
