Question
I have a male and female parakeet.The female laid an egg, I want to know if it will hatch and how long it will take to happen

Hi, Becky.  Thanks for posting!

No one can tell you for sure if the egg will hatch or not.  It depends on if the egg is fertile and all goes well during the incubation process.  It takes about 18 days from the date the female starts incubating her eggs constantly for an egg to hatch.  Some birds start incubating right away, some not until the second egg is laid.

I`ve been raising/breeding/handfeeding/selling parrots for over 20 years (parakeets/budgies, cockatiels, 6 subspecies of conures, parrotlets, amazons, lovebirds, etc.).
