Question
QUESTION: my parakeet has like an egg or something like on its butt and it just stays there, and my parakeet moves (i don't know sex of my parakeet) it's tall all the time but the egg or round object just i like hooked on it's butt, and i don't know what it is, i'm starting to get very worried, it's colored red, it looks like my parakeet is going to lay and egg, but my parakeet not doing anything and i thick it's swollen or something i don't know what to do please help.

ANSWER: Hi, Ventzi,

Your female keet is eggbound.  This is an emergency situation for this bird and it will die in short time if you do not get it avian veterinarian assistance IMMEDIATELY (or get the bird to an emergency animal clinic).  Do not hesitate.  This is very important.  The only way you can help this bird while you are getting ready to take it to the bird vet/emergency clinic is to place the bird cage and all in your bathroom.  Set the cage on the floor or top of commode, etc., and allow the hot water to run until the room is filled with steam.  The steam will help a little.  If you can get a drop or 2 of vegetable/olive oil or mineral oil down the bird's throat and GENTLY around the tissue and egg where the egg is sticking out.  If this egg breaks inside the female, she will also die so be VERY GENTLE.  The bird must be kept warm and as quiet as possible until the bird vet can help  the bird.

QUESTION: thank you for this information very much, but now where can i go to a vet, i don't know any, my zip code is 98034,
please i need an answer quickly please.

Answer
Hi again, Ventzi,

You can check you local telephone book or go to www.aav.org.  You are wasting precious time coming to the internet.  Use your local phone book and find an emergency animal clinic if nothing else.  If your bird is still alive, you need to do this TODAY.  I'm sorry, but I don't keep a listing of certified avian vets to refer people to...you will need to search on your own.
