Birth Control/missed period on birth control

Question
I have been taking my pill this month but the only thing is that i have missed the pill by one day quite a few times but would take it the next day or as soon as i remembered. I think that i missed it about 5 or more times which is really bad. Me and my boyfriend have been using either a condom or the "pull out method". Is there a chance that i could be pregnant? Or could it just be that i did not take the pill on time and now its just a hormonal imbalance?

Answer
Hello Cristina,

Thanks for your question. I'm not a medical doctor so please consult your physician. Yes, it is not good to miss the pill and/or take it late that many times during on a monthly basis. Also, the "pull-out method" is not really birth control. The sperm can impregnant you before he pulls out. Also condoms are not 100% safe from pregnancy. It is possible that you could be pregnant. Or it could possibly be the hormones. I would recommend calling 1-800-395-HELP to find a pregnancy resource center in your area or go online at http://www.optionline.org
So please email me at DCHERYL51@yahoo.com so we can talk more.

Sincerely,
