Question
i recently started my first pack of birth control pills after a six month hiatus from the pill. instead of starting the pills the day i get my period or the sunday after i get my period, i started the pill after my period ended. i took the pill for seven days before i had sex, but i would still like to know if im safe from becoming pregnant, even after starting the pill incorrectly

Answer
Hi Alyssa,

Yes, if you took the pill for at least 7 days on time and with no missed pills, you are now protected from pregnancy. Not starting the same day as your period is not incorrect, it's just that if you had started on that day you would have been protected immediately.

I hope this helps. If you have further questions let me know.
