QuestionQUESTION: Hi, my name is Breanna, i am 15 years old. I am pregnant with my first child. I am due January 29th. After i have the baby i was considering birth control. I really don't want to take the pill, I'm not really good at remembering to take pills. So i was wondering what method would be best for me..?
ANSWER: Hi Breanna,
Other options include condoms, an IUD (which is placed in the uterus for up to 5 years), or the Depo shot (which is received once every 3 months). Your doctor will be able to advise you on the best methods based on your history and situation. I suggest you make an appointment with him/her to go over the different methods available to you.
I hope this helps. If you have further questions let me know.

QUESTION: I used condoms before i was pregnant, and they didnt seem to work so well. I was thinking about Mirena, but i have heard some negative things about it. What do you think..?
AnswerHi Breanna,
Mirena may be a good option for you. It is over 99% effective in preventing pregnancy. You need to have a appointment with a doctor or nurse to have it inserted, but after that, you don't need to do anything until you are ready to have it removed. No worries about missing pills, etc. There are some side effects, but most are minor and do not last long. The more serious complications are very rare. Here is a good link for you that describes it:

I suggest you discuss this with your doctor to determine whether this is right for you.
I hope this helps. If you have further questions, let me know.
