Question
Been taking Cerazette for 4 months now, im 42 and my hair is breaking off when brushed and washed etc., i carnt have the combined pill as my mum has had a stroke, do you think the hair loss will stop? what should i do ? Please help as my doctor isnt to concerned,i dont want to lose my hair.

Answer
Hi Marion,

Hair loss is a side effect of hormonal pills, including the mini-pill, which you are one. Usually it is recommended that you wait at least 3 months to see if side effects have gone away. Since it has been more than 4 months for you I think you should talk to your doctor about switching to a brand that has a lower androgen index, which should help with the hair loss. If he/she is unwilling to do this, you may want to consider getting a second opinion or seeing a specialist.

I hope this helps. If you have further questions let me know.
