Question
Hi,
I really hope you can answer my question as im pretty stressed out. I am taking microgynon 30. Can you get pregnant if you dont always take the pill at the same time everyday? I usually take mine between 8 and 10 am and if I forget I am never any later than 8 hrs. I had sex a week ago and I am not sure if the condom split as I was slightly drunk so now I am worried as My nipples are tender but I dont know if its all just in my head. I have 10 days worth of the pill left to take.

Thanks Please help!

Jennifer

Answer
Hi Jennifer,

Taking the pill between 8 and 10am is fine and will not increase your chances of pregnancy. It is best to stay within a 4 hour window when taking the pill. Eight hours late is ok as long as you do not make a habit of it and it was not the first 1-2 pills of a new pill pack. If it is, it could increase your chances of pregnancy (this does not mean you will definitely become pregnant.) I am not sure how long you have been taking the pill but if you have just started (have been taking it less than 3 months) you may be experiencing side effects from adjusting to the pill.

I recommend waiting it out and seeing if your period arrives. If it does not, take a pregnancy test to be sure.

I hope this helps. If you have further questions, let me know.
