Birth Control/Provera

Question
My dr recently put me on provera (6 days ago). I've took six pills and now have decided to stop taking it. I was wondering if just a few pills can cause any of the serious side effects that are listed? Also, is it safe to stop taking it abruptly? I was only on it for some irregular bleeding nothing serious.

Answer
Hi Tiffany,

You could check with your doctor for sure. But in my opinion, you could just stop with probably not too much in side effects. Why did you decide against taking it? Did you have side effects in that short time? Anyway, good luck on this. In my opinion, doctors put women on pills that they really don't need.

Sincerely,
Diane Cheryl
