Question
QUESTION: is the iud removal painfull?? and what should i expect after its removed?? as far as pain cramps

ANSWER: Hi Claudia,

IUD removal is quicker and easier than insertion and should not be painful. There may be some mild cramping and bleeding during and right after removal, but that should go away quickly.

I hope this helps. If you have further questions let me know.

QUESTION: how soon after can i have sex and will i be at risk of getting pregnant??? cuz i heard that you become infertile after Haven a IUD for so long

Answer
Hi Claudia,

IUDs themselves do not cause you to become infertile. That is a myth. What can cause infertility is an STD, and IUD insertion while having an untreated STD can increase chances of infertility. But you would have been tested before receiving an IUD.

You can have sex soon after IUD removal and are at a risk of pregnancy if you do not use another form of protection.

I hope this helps. If you have further questions let me know.
