Question
i am going on the nuvaring for the first time this month. i started my period on the 8th of this month and i didn't read the paper until the morning of the 9th that i was supposed to insert the ring the first day of your period. so i inserted it on the 9th well my period seemed to have gone away since i inserted the ring. just worried. maybe over nothing just looking for some kind of answer, should i get a pregnancy test?

Answer
Hi Bonny,

You can insert the nuvaring at any time between day 1 and day 5 of your period. It is recommended that you use condoms as a back-up method if you plan to have sex during the first 7 days on the nuvaring. Your period most likely stopped due to the hormones in the ring. You do not need a pregnancy test.

I hope this helps. If you have further questions let me know.
