Question
after i had my daughter on September 8th, i didn't wait my 6 weeks. i waited 2, if that. at my 6 week check up, i couldn't get checked out cause i was still bleeding. so my obgyn gave me a depo shot and birth control pills, to stop the bleeding. and it stopped. but b4 my 6 week check up, i had sex, and didn't get checked to see if i were pregnant before i took the birth control. the last time i bled, was i think around November 1st, and it is now almost January 1st. the bleeding i did have smelt like it did after i had my child, and it was very light. i haven't had a period since and it has been almost 2 months. I've been having pregnancy symptoms such as: i woke up 1 morning and felt nauseous, tired, definite increase in appetite, slight weight gain, i just, i have this feeling that there is something growing inside of me(a mother knows, but i could be wrong), everybody else thinks i am, i even want to try different weird things to eat, my nipples are very tender and i cant put pressure on my breasts cause they are tender as well. i know a few of these symptoms are the same as depo provera symptoms, and thats what makes me so confused. so if you could, please help me figure this out.

Answer
Hi Nina,

Thanks for your question. I'm not a doctor but in my opinion, you should get a pregnancy test. You shouldn't be taking birth control or any hormonal method because if you are pregnant, this is not healthy for your baby. Please call the pregnancy resource center hotline and find one near you. You can get a free pregnancy test there. Go to http://www.optionline.org or call 1-800-395-HELP. If you can't find a center there, try this website
http://www.heartbeatinternational.org/worldwide_directory.asp
Your symptoms do sound like they could be pregnancy symptoms but I can't say for sure. Please get the free test and then email me. My address is DCHERYL51@yahoo.com and hope to hear from you soon.
