Question
i started my period on tuesday, november 25th.  went to my annual appt. on wednesday dec. 3rd and started nuvaring that day.  had unprotected sex on dec. 4th.  took plan b on december 5th.  had unprotected sex again on dec. 5th (don't ask...stupid i know) got nervous...took plan b again on dec. 6th.  i have some twinges today and egg-white type discharge (i guess maybe i'm ovulating?)  is it likely that i am covered?

Answer
Hi Karen,
As long as you are using the NuvaRing, it's unlikely you're ovulating, since like the pill it mostly works by suppressing ovulation.  In general it takes about a week to be protected by the ring, so that wouldn't be until Dec. 10.  The Plan B should cover you until that time, so it's likely you're covered.
