Birth Control/Going off the pill

Question
It takes up to three months for your hormones to return to normal after going off the pill, so could it take that long to actually get your period back? What is the probability of that?

Answer
Hi Julie,

Yes, it can take several months for your period to return after going off the pill. Since every woman is different, I cannot give you actual probabilities. However I can say that it is common and normal. If pregnancy is a possibility, then I recommend taking a pregnancy test to be sure. If, after 3 months, you do not get a period and you are not pregnant, give your doctor a call so he/she can rule out other reasons. But if you find this happening to you, it may just be a question of time.

I hope this helps. If you have further questions let me know.
