Birth Control/My period

Question
Me and my boyfriend had unprotected sex while I was on birth control. I had been taking birth control for years. I've missed 2 periods so far, but I'm still taking my birth control. Should I stop taking the birth control?
Do you think I could be pregnant?

Answer
Hi Jane,

Thanks for your question. I'm not a medical doctor but I urge you to see a physician. Or you could get a pregnancy test to find out. You can find  a location to get a free pregnancy test by going to http://www.optionline.org or call 1-800-395-HELP. If you don't live in U.S. then go to http://www.heartbeatinternational.org/worldwide_directory.asp
If you are pregnant, you should not be taking the hormonal birth control so please find out. Please email me at DCHERYL51@yahoo.com and let me know what happens. It is hard for me to tell an opinion on whether you could be pregnant. If you were on birth control for a long period of time, the chances are small, I think. But it's possible, especially when you tell me you missed 2 periods.

Bye for now.
