Birth Control/Missed 3 Pills!

Question
Hi! I missed a total of 3 pills in a row!! (help!) I am taking Loestrin birth control and in my 3rd week of pills I missed Thursday, Friday and Saturday all in a row and didnt notice it until Sunday when i went to take my pill, which is the pink, non hormone pill week that gives me my period. So I threw out the rest of that pack and instead of taking my "period pill", I started a new pack. So...I never got my period and instead I have been spotting here and there. But the biggest problem is on Saturday my husband and I had intercourse so I am really nervous! And we had intercourse 2 days ago without protection. What are my chances of being pregnant right now and when should I take a pregnancy test? Please let me know as soon as possible! Thanks!  :)

Answer
Sabrina,

Usually, if you haven't taken a pill for 48 hours, then you should use a back-up method of birth control, such as a condom, for at least a week otherwise you could become pregnant. So there is a chance that you could have gotten pregnant after having unprotected intercourse on Saturday, and then again two days later.

If you want to take a home pregnancy test, it will be most accurate when your period is a week late, or around 2 weeks after possible conception. Make sure you take it in the morning when your urine is most concentrated.

Hope I could help!
