Birth Control/Nuvaring and St. John's Wort

Question
Hi, I have been using he Nuvaring for some time now and i was looking into taking St. Johns Wort to help even out my moods. However it says everywhere that there is a possibility of side effects with this combination. I was hoping you might have a little more information for me here to help make the decision to use St. John's Wort or not. Thanks!

Answer
This is all I can find so far. "Pregnancies and breakthrough bleeding have been reported by users of combined hormonal contraceptives who also used the herbal supplement St. John’s Wort."
I would recommend you asking your regular physician about this. I would not take a chance. Are you doing ok with the Nuvaring? Any side effects? If you want to talk more, email me at DCHERYL51@yahoo.com

Sincerely,
Diane Cheryl
