Birth Control/Stopping the Nuvaring

Question
I have been on the Nuvaring since about November 2007.  We decided that we wanted to try for another baby and took out my last nuvaring on May 26th, started my period as usual on 5/28 - 6/2.  Which was great.  But on June 13th I started my period again and it hasn't stopped yet.  Is this normal for stopping the Nuvaring?  I have been on birth control for about 7 years (various methods) and never had this happen.

Answer
Hi Jessica,

Thanks for your question. I'm not a medical doctor so of course, I recommend that you ask your physician. I realize that you went to your doctor to remove the nuvaring but perhaps you should also tell the doctor what has been happening. In my calculations you have had a period for 2 weeks and that sounds excessive to me. I think you should find out soon what is the problem because the lengthy bleeding could be dangerous. Please email me at DCHERYL51@yahoo.com and let me know what happens. I'm concerned.

Sincerely,
Diane Cheryl
