Birth Control/Abnormal period?

Question
Hi, I've been on birth control for 3 months now and my first two periods were completely normal. But my third one, well a week before my period i started getting lots of brown discharge. My friend told me she has that happen form time to time so I ignored it. But now, I'm on the 9th day of my period and it is lighter but its still bright red and has the little clots you get. Is this still normal, like an effect from my birth control or is it abnormal?

Answer
Hi Erika,

Thanks for your question. I'm not a medical doctor so please check with your personal physician. This could happen-are you on birth control pills? I don't recommend any kind of hormonal birth control methods because of risks and side effects. Please email me at DCHERYL51@yahoo.com and we can talk more about birth control, etc.
Hope to hear from you soon.

Sincerely,
Diane Cheryl
