Question I've Just Started Taking Tri-Sprintec Birth Control & I've Been On For Awhile. I Hve A 28 Day Pill Take & I Hve 5 Days Yet! I Was Sopposed To Start My Period 2 Days Ago & I'm Wondering If Its A Side Effect Of The Birth Control!!! Can You Please Tell Me If This Is A Side Effect OR If I May Be Pregnant!
Answer Dear Ashley,
I'm not sure what you mean by you have 5 days "yet", but maybe you mean left?
Either way, you could be pregnant especially if you did not use a back up method of contraception during the first month on Tri-Sprintec. This is from a website about this pill:
"A second form of birth control should be used during the first month of use."

You can go to any drugstore and purchase a home pregnancy test, or you could call your pharmacy where you get your bc pills prescribed, and ask the pharmacist about this. Pharmacists are an excellent source of information. Of course if you do not get a satisfactory answer from any of these sources, you could go to your doctor for a blood test.
