Question
Im currently on the depo stot and im considerting mirena, but a little scared after hearing the horror stories. In particular, Im worried about the possibility of displacement. I have a 2 year old and would like to have more children later. What are the statistics of that possibly happening, and which method would you suggest.

Answer
Hi Heather,

I don't know who you were directing this question to, but it got put into the question pool at allexperts.com so I'm going to try to answer it. I don't recommend depo provera or the mirena IUD. Both have hormonal and physical side effects and risks. I have read many horror stories about both. Could you consider Natural Family Planning or some other kind of non-hormonal birth control? You should be able to have more children, in my opinion. I can't give you exact statistics, no one can, not even a doctor. If you want to know more about Natural family planning you can go to allexperts.com and find Ramona under NFP. If you have any problems finding her, let me know.
Also, if you want to talk more about other methods, just email me at DCHERYL51@yahoo.com

Sincerely,
Diane Cheryl
