Question
A fairly stupid thing happened me last week. i always start my microlite contraceptive pill on a Tuesday but on my last pack i pierced the "monday" one by accident. i thought fine ill just make sure i take one everyday.of course after 2 weeks i had forgotten that.i took a pill on Friday and realized i still had my Thursday pill in the pack.so i took my "late pill" and then later in the evening my normal one.it turned out that i didn't actually miss out on a pill the day before and so took 2 pills in one day.im now short one day.what do i do?do i start my pills on a monday now and keep the 7 day free rhythm?have i seriously endangered my health?

Answer
Hi Aileen,

I'm not a doctor so I recommend that you check with your own personal physician. In my opinion, you would not be in much harm from what happened. So are you just on the second week or where are you in the cycle? In my opinion, you could start on a Tues again and then keep going. Or you could start on Monday. Just know that it is not 100% guaranteed that you will not get pregnant. Even if you take the pills correctly, you are never totally protected. Also, pills do not prevent sexually transmitted diseases. Let me know what happens. You can email me at DCHERYL51@yahoo.com and we can talk more. By the way, I don't recommend hormonal birth control methods so is this necessary at this time of your life?

Sincerely,
Diane Cheryl
