Question
I had a marina inserted and now my sex drive is gone.my hubby is very romantic and patient and i thought it was my mind playing tricks.Help

Answer
Hi Casey,

Since the Mirena IUD does contain some hormones (progestin), a lower sex drive is a possible side effects. If it has been less than 3 months since the IUD was inserted, I suggest you just wait and see if your sex drive comes back. It takes a few months for your to adjust to the IUD. If it has been more than 3 months, or if you find it does not get better after 3 months, give your doctor a call. This is a common question and he/she should be able to give you some suggestions that may help.

I hope this helps. If you have further questions let me know.
