Birth Control/Waiting period between birthcontrol pills

Question
I was on Yaz for several months. I could no longer afford it, so i switched to Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo. I did not allow a week off the Yaz(to let my body cycle), before immediately starting the ortho- lo. I have been having sex with my partner with out any secondary form of protection. Should I be concerned about the possibility of pregnancy because i did not allow my body time to adjust to new birth control?

Answer
Hi Cassandra,

Thanks for your question. There shouldn't be much problem from switching pills, in my opinion. However, I'm not a medical doctor so please consult with your own physician. Anytime you have sex, whether "protected" or "unprotected" you run the risk of pregnancy. No method of birth control can guarantee 100% that you won't get pregnant. If you have any more questions or just want to talk, my email address is DCHERYL51@yahoo.com
