Birth Control - Yeast Infection Due to Yaz
Expert: Diane Cheryl - 10/11/2009
Question I am 35 years old and I am taking Yaz for the PMDD its being about 5 since i started taking YAZ for the past 3 months i have this yeast infection that wont go away , i talk to my doctor and she gave me Diflucan , which worked in perfectly but the yeast wont go away for anything. I read it could be due to a hormonal level due to the birth control, someone told me theres over the counter pills to balance my hormones to get rid of the yeas infections , but i don't know which ones. I am going crazy with these yeast infection, I rarely ever got before i Started Yaz, I don't want to stop taking YAZ because it works wonders. Please help me!
Answer Dear Oto,
I really can't say any more than what your doctor has said. You would probably have to give up the Yaz if you want to control the yeast infections. Did your doctor have any other advice? Maybe you could ask her about diet-I know sometimes you can be eating things that cause the yeast infections. I could do some research about this if you want to email me at CHERYL51@aol.com we could talk more. So hope to hear from you soon.
Sincerely,
Diane Cheryl
