Birth Control/stopping birth control pills

Question
I stopped bcp about 4 weeks ago and have been having pregnancy symptoms.  I was suppose to start my period (I counted 28 days from the 1st day of my period) today, but no sign of it. I took a hpt and it came back negative. Could I still be pregnant or does it take awhile for your cycle to become normal again?  I've had a normal cycle before and after the pills (usually 28-29 days).

Answer
You could be pregnant but you would have to see if you miss your next period. Also, see if you develop any pregnancy symptoms. You can get a free pregnancy test at a local pregnancy resource center.
http://www.optionline.org or call 1-800-395-HELP.
The pill could be effective but I don't recommend hormonal birth control methods. Hope this helps.

Sincerely,
Diane Cheryl
