Question
i started taking birth control for the first time about a month ago. my doctor told me to wait til the sunday after i started my period but i went ahead and tool it the first day. is that a problem? ...and me and boyfriend had sex on the last day of my 28 day pack and he came inside me. will taking the pill early affect me that? could i get pregnant? i take the pill every day. but im just worried

Answer
Kathleen,

The birth control pill is not 100% guaranteed to stop pregnancy. So you can get pregnant anytime you have sex, "protected" or "unprotected". You should be ok starting the pill but I would usually recommend that you follow the directions. I don't generally recommend any kind of hormonal birth control method because of the side effects and risks. Do you have any other questions? If so, you may email me at CHERYL51@aol.com so hope to hear from you soon!
