Question
Hi, I was wondering if you could please help me. I have been on birthcontrol pills for 4 years and this month I missed the first week of my pills. My last cycle was on Oct 21,2009 and I started the pills on Nov. 6th. What are the chances Im preg? It might help you to know that I also have an abdominal cerclage in place it was placed when I was 12 weeks preg with my son he is almost 5 now. Thank you for your help.

Answer
Hi Stella,

Thanks for your question. Yes, you could get pregnant if you had sexual activity in the week that you missed your birth control pills. Actually, women get pregnant even using the birth control pills because no birth control method is 100% safe in preventing pregnancy. So yes, you could be pregnant. You can get a free test at a local pregnancy resource center. To find one go to http://www.optionline.org or call 1-800-395-HELP. If not in the U.S. then try this website
