Birth Control/Am I pregnant?

Question
I recently switched birth control pills from Microgestin to Tri-Sprintec. The Microgestin was prescribed continually with no off week. When I started taking the Tri-Sprintec imediatly following my last Microgestin tablet I started my period within a few days assuming it was the change of hormones that did it. I finished the first pack of Tri-Sprintec, started taking the inactive pills I had cramping and low back pain which is normal when I'm ready to start but I never started. I am now 4 tabs into a new pack and I am not expecting to start now but I am having alot of pregnancy symptoms. Extreme nausea after eating, still cramping and low back pain, I have all the symptoms of pregnancy except tender breasts. I have taken 2 pregnancy tests within the last 4 day and both neg. FYI, I have taken Tri-Sprintec before and had no side effects at all. Please help!!

Answer
Dear Carrie,

Thanks for your question. I don't recommend either of these hormonal pills. It's possible that you could be pregnant. Sometimes a woman is pregnant but the tests are negative. Eventually you will have a period or not. Also, you sound like you are having pregnancy symptoms. I would advise you to go to a local pregnancy resource center and have a free test there. To find a location near you, go to http://www.optionline.org or call 1-800-395-HELP. Or try this website
