Question
Hello,

I was wondering, I put my birth control NUVARING in last Sunday and my boyfriend and I had unprotected sex the very next day. How big of a chance is there that I could be pregnant? We have had unprotected sex many times before but Ive never been able to conceive and we decided recently now is not the best time for a child. So I started taking birth control. I was wondering because we recently broke up and I am worried if I may be and how great of a chance it is and if birth control will effect the child if I'm not sure and don't get an accurate reading on a pregnancy test and don't take my birth control out. Please help.

Thank you.

Answer
Hi Samantha,

Did you find out if you are pregnant or not since you posted your question? I just received it right now. There is a chance that you could be pregnant since you just put the Nuva Ring in.
Really, there is always a chance of pregnancy even using birth control. No birth control method is 100% effective in preventing pregnancy.

Yes, if you are pregnant, you would need to remove the ring. I would advise you to check with your doctor about this and all your health questions. If you are pregnant, will this be a problem? I hope all goes well with you.

If you could email me at CHERYL51@aol.com I would love to hear any updates on your situation.

Sincerely,
Diane Cheryl
