Question
My period is irregular and ive had it for almost 5 years now. And everytime its about 2-3 weeks late it hurts SO bad i end up crying. It lasts from about 2-7 days and its most of the time REALLY heavy. But i dont want birth control pills. I allready feel pressured to have sex and i dont want them to add to all the pressure. So is there any other pills i can take? because i cant miss school every month because i cant get out of bed because my period hurts so bad. Please, i just dont know.

Answer
Hey,

Yes, there are other options.
First, you need to see your doctor. It sounds like you might have PCOS, or another reproductive illness. They can prescribe you medication to help deal with this.
If you are being pressured, the most important thing to know is that you are not alone. Continue to stay strong and say no. I'm proud of you.

Expertise

I love questions on condoms, the pill, what to do if contraception fails, if you could be pregnant, obtaining contraception (Even without parental permission). I have a lot of experience with teenagers. One thing I don't know too much about is the IUD, but I'm working on it. I really do care about the people that ask me questions! I don't mind lots of follow up, and I like to know if things turned out okay. I'll be with you every step of the way!
