Birth Control/Bleeding while on birth control

Question
I recieved two injections of the depo. My first injection Sept. 2 I never stopped bleeding. My Dr. gave me premarin to take, that did not work. I recieved a second injection Nov. 24th and still bleed. Finally my Dr. gave me Loestrin 24. December 10th. After 6 days of taking those pills my bleeding stopped. On Jan. 24th I recieved my period and guess what I have been bleeding every since. What should I do. Mind you the Loestrin made me constipated and I am scared to take any more birth control.  Why am I bleeding so much? Is my hormones confused? I recently went to the Dr. and was given two choices, 1. a DNC or 2. Another birth control which I would take 1 pill 3 times a day for 3 days then 1 pill twice a day for 3 days then 1 pill for 3 weeks then I will take 1 week off and start new pack. I tired of taking pill because I am unsure of the side effects but I don't want to bleed anymore what can I do?

Answer
Hello Tiffany,

Sorry to hear of your problems. I am not a doctor but I have studied this subject for over 20 years now. I believe it's best not to take hormonal birth control. That includes depo, birth control pills, nuvaring, etc.

If I were you, I would seek out another doctor, maybe someone who believes in more natural methods of treatment. Why would the doctor want to give you a DNC? Did he/she explain why?

I would suggest getting off hormonal birth control. Do you need to be on birth control at all right now? Are you mainly using it to stop the bleeding at this point?

Try to find a recommendation of another doctor who might be more natural minded. If you tell me your location, I will try to find someone for you or perhaps you can find another doctor yourself. Always get a second opinion if you are not happy with your present doctor.
