Birth Control/Ovulation predictor kits while using Clomid

Question
I started using Clomid for the first time on days 5-9 of my period this month. My regular cycle is 28 days, and using Ovulation predictor kits usually indicated an LH Surge between days 11-15 before using Clomid. I am now on day 17 and still haven't had a positive test. Also on day 13 I started spotting, and continued to thru day 16. Is this all normal on Clomid? And can my LH Surge change due to taking Clomid? And should I continue testing?

Answer
Yes, your LH surge will change due to Clomid.  Usually you will ovulate 5-9 days after your last Clomid pill.  So it could be day 18 (day 9 plus 9 days) for you.  The spotting is unusual, but probably related somehow to the Clomid.  I would keep testing for 2 more days.  On your next cycle I would recommend taking the Clomid day 3-7, as that will keep your cycle closer to what's normal for you.  It seems like your response to Clomid is not the usual one, but it is a good drug.  Good luck.
