Question
I just got through my first month of Alesse 21 and I want to know if I should have my period the day after I stopped taking the pill, or for the first month will it be messed up? Not getting my period really stresses me out, I just want to ensure that I'm healthy.
Hope you can help,
Jamie

Answer
Hi Jamie,

Thanks for your question. I did a search on the internet and found a website that had side effects that were concerning to me. I want to give you that link. http://www.drugs.com/mtm/alesse.html

Then I found this link
http://www.healthsquare.com/drugs/54376_2.htm

This information said that you should start your period the week after you finish the 3 weeks of pills. So yes, you should have started.
I'm not sure if it's really cause for alarm but this last link said that if you don't start your period by the 7 days, you should consult your doctor. So please check these links out.

I don't personally recommend hormonal birth control because of side effects and risks from the hormones which are not natural to our bodies. But the Alesse 21 had more side effects than the majority of brands of pills I've researched.
